Finding some ME time…
A Weekend Getaway to Colorado Springs
Sometimes you just need a quick escape from routine, and for me, Colorado Springs is the perfect choice. Just a short drive from Denver, this mountain town instantly feels like another world with its mix of rugged landscapes and small town charm.
The first stop was the Garden of the Gods, and WOW – pictures really don’t do it justice. Towering red rocks jutted into the sky, and with Pikes Peak looming in the background, it felt like walking through a painting. I took one of the shorter trails to stretch my legs and spent more time than I planned just staring at the rock formations glowing in the morning light.
In the afternoon, I wandered around Old Colorado City – quaint shops, art galleries and cozy cafes were perfect for lingering. I treated myself to a latte and watched the world go by, soaking in the laid-back vibe.
Before heading back, I squeezed in a visit to Seven Falls. The cascading water, tucked between steep canyon walls, make for the perfect finale. I stayed until sunset, watching the sky paint the rocks in shades of pink and gold.
Colorado Springs turned out to be exactly what I needed: a mix of adventure, beauty, and peace. It’s the kind of place that makes you breathe a little deeper and leave already planning your next trip.
